Parent Letters
A collection of all Mrs. Hay's Parent Letters sent by email throughout the year.

Dear Parents,
Hope you are enjoying the fact that you may have that "extra" day off!
I have a reminder for you that there is a short social to attend this Thursday, 7:00P.M., at the school on Sept. 10. We try to not have many functions in the evening as you are all so busy and already making two trips to the school as it is to transport your students! The students will sing a few songs and you may see some of their art projects. Please, bring your favorite pie to share (or eat yourself!) and GHACS will provide the drinks.
The Gray Harbor Church is having some Bible studies starting this Saturday night at 7:00P.M. If you have ever wanted to know and understand more about what the Bible says I encourage you to attend these meetings. I will be sending a flyer home to you. If you want to invite other people, I can give you some flyers to share as well.
Our visit to the reptile man was awesome! He put the tortoise down on the floor for the students to touch and draped a very large snake over the student's shoulders. God even made retiles beautiful! Many of them had pretty colors or patterns and designs.
That is all for now. We hope to see you out at the pie social!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Hay

Dear Parents,
We are off and running with a wonderful new year. Everything went so well with the field trip. I thank you all who helped so much. For families, if you ever want to visit Northwest Trek and see the animals, the 10:00 A.M. tram seems to be the best. We saw a lot of animals! We were also blessed with good weather, health, and safety. Amen!
We have another field trip planned this Tuesday. We will travel to another Adventist school in Olympia. Olympia Christian School has invited us to come see "Reptile Man." This gentleman has a collection of reptiles that he brings around to schools in the area. There is no cost for this field trip. Students need to bring a sack lunch. We will leave the school at 10:30 A.M. and return before our 3:15 dismissal. Please, see that your students do not bring any personal electronic devices.
Because of this field trip, tone chimes and piano lessons will be Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Please, remember to send notebooks for Mr. Murchy to write in for their piano lessons.
FROG Fest (Fully Rely On God) is this Monday. This is an incentive program that we do at the end of each month. It is designed as a reward for students who show attending behavior and get their work completed for the month.
I believe I heard Mrs. Gentry say something about colors on Monday.....Parents, you can ask your students about that!
We are looking to have an Open House soon so parents can meet each other and fellowship. I will be sending a flyer home regarding that.
Thank you for sending your student(s) to GHACS. They are all precious!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Hay

Dear Parents,
I wanted to enclose our camping itinerary. It looks like we will be having a very nice trip. It also looks like our weather should be nice so you could probably disregard umbrellas and raincoats from the supply list.
At Sunset Lake there are many things for the students to do. There is a Prayer Path with stations to meditate at. At the end of the trail you write some of your thoughts down in a book. There are other trails around the lake. We can visit the horse barn and we are still hoping for some water activities provided Sunset Lake can secure a life guard.
On Monday, there will be a field trip form to sign. On it will be a phone number where you can reach us any time (provided there is cell service in the area). Please, see that your student(s) do not bring any personal electronic devices. Most of our travel is only one hour in duration.
I am looking forward to Monday, Aug. 24th, our first day of school. You can visit our website www.ghacschool.org to see any of these parent letters. We also have the school calendar there.
I will see you soon!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Hay

Dear Parents,
I hope this note finds you all well. Enclosed is the supply list for the year; I neglected to send it to everyone.
I wanted to give you an update on the fieldtrip which is Aug. 26th-27th. We are able to stay at Sunset Lake. We are also able to use a guest cabin that sleeps 10. This cabin would be for the parents with younger students. The "overflow" will be in tents at a nearby site. The guest cabin comes with towels, cooking supplies, etc., so we will use that as our "camp kitchen." We may be able to swim or canoe if they can secure a certified life guard for one hour while we are there. I haven't figured all of the cost yet, but as last year, I will try to keep it a $30 per person. All students are encouraged to come and parents of the younger students. For those of you who have more than one student at the school, if you are certain that the younger sibling could be comforted by the older sibling in case of sadness at night, you would not need to come. I need to know who will be going at this point so I can make the final plans. If you have a tent we can use, that would also be helpful with the number of people it sleeps. Again, this trip is optional, we will be back in the classroom on Friday, the 28th!
Our youth group that gets together on Saturdays will be meeting a t 10:00 A.M. at Lake Sylvia this week, Aug. 15. We will have potluck around 12:00 and then go for a walk. We will be done around 2:00. This is taking the place of our regular time out at the school. When you drive into the park and it starts to "Y" stay to the right. We are usually a little ways down on the left. If you want to drop your students off they will be supervised, or bring the whole family and fellowship with us!
Things are shaping up at the school. Mrs. Gentry, our P.E. teacher, called to say she would be there our first Monday. We also have a few more students this year: 15. God has really blessed our school and I thank you all for being a part of those blessings!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Hay
